Happy Christmas from Freyashawk! New Seasonal Creatures Breeding List

(Christmas Dragon in Hades in Creatures of Olympus)

I would like to wish all players a very happy Holiday season, a Happy Christmas and New Year!

You will find separate pages above every post that provide breeding information for ALL Creatures both in Egypt and in Creatures of Olympus.  There is a separate tab for each.  Seasonal Creatures are included but I thought for easy access, I would list the Seasonal Creatures for 2016 Christmas here as well both for Age of Pyramids and Creatures of Olympus.  As of Wednesday, 28 December, I finally was able to breed the Christmas Dragon in Hades in Creatures of Olympus, thanks in part to a hint by Helen from Frismos.

U.S. Thanksgiving Festival 2016

A new Creature and an old seasonal Creature both are available in the Market now.  The new Creature is Tutanbarley, a combination of Human and Serpent, breeding time 1 day, 19 hours.   The Creature from last year who has returned is The Cursed Turkey, Cat and Hawk combination, breed time 1 day.  As long as they appear in the Market, you can breed them.

There is another new Creature in the form of the Jackal King who is found in the Revive Pyramid.  He therefore is not a seasonal Creature although he appeared today as well for the first time.  He required more Tokens to revive than any of his predecessors as follows:

Jackal King:

7 Grey Tokens
7 Purple Tokens
6 Green Tokens
10 Blue Tokens
5 Red Tokens

The sheer number of Tokens required for this one makes one aware of the wisdom of continuing to sacrifice dupilcate Creatures even when one has exhausted the Revive Pyramid List.  A new Creature could be added at ANY time!

In Creatures of Olympus, the seaonsl Thanksgiving Creatures are the Roman Turkey and Autumn Fairy.  As the Roman Turkey is an old seasonal offered once again, its habits and parentage were known.  Use a Bull and Eagle.  Breeding time is 2 days.  The Autumn Fairy, however is new and I wanted her very badly before I have to go into hospital for an operation...  I got her today using Eagle and Fish.  Breeding time is 24 hours.  So very pleased and hope it will be a good omen.

Finally, at the end of this week, two more Creatures were released.  In Egypt, the Creature is to be found in the Underground in the form of the Scorpion King.  He is bred from Scorpion and Ha and breeding time is 1 Day 22 Hours.

In Creatures of Olympus, the Creature is in the Water World and is the Coraline Stallion.  No one yet has logged either the breeding combination or breeding time for this one.  One hopes we will have a few days to solve the mystery and obtain this delicate new sea creature.

Thanks to Silver Elf for Scorpion King breeding time.

Tutanbarley and John Barleycorn
xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

The oldest form of brew is Barley Beer probably, made from emmer barley.  One of the most ancient legends from Canaan is about the god Mot and his sacrifice at the hands of the goddess Anat.  It is one of the oldest poems about the seasonal Sacrifice of the Eternal God/King and it features the God of the Underworld, Mot by Anat.

'She seizes Mot the son of El,
With a blade she cleaves him;
With a shovel she winnows him;
With fire she parches him;
With a millstone she grinds him,
In the field she sows him.,
His remains the birds eat.
The wild creatures consume his fragments,
Remains from remains are sundered.'

It is, of course, the most ancient rite of Sacrifice of the Grain and its resurrection through the planting of the seed

The legend of John Barleycorn is English rather than Egyptian.  It is a myth of Eternal Sacrifice and there is an old folksong about the rite.

'There were three men came out of the West,
Their fortunes for to try.
And these three men made a solemn vow,
John Barleycorn must die.

They've plowed, they've sown, they've harrowed him in
Threw clods upon his head,
And these three men made a solemn vow,
John Barleycorn was dead.

They've let him lie for a very long time,
'Til the rains from heaven did fall,
And little Sir John sprung up his head,
And so amazed them all!

They've let him stand 'til Midsummer's Day
'Til he looked both pale and wan,
And little Sir John has grown a long, long beard,
And so become a man.

They've hired men with their scythes so sharp
To cut him off at the knee,
They've rolled him and tied him by the way
Serving him most barbarously.

They've hired men with their sharp pitchforks
Who've pricked him to the heart.
And the loader he has served him worse than that,
For he has bound him to the cart.

They've wheeled im round and round a field
Til they came unto a poind,
And there they made a solemn oath
On poor John Barleycorn.

They've hired men with their crabtree sticks
To cut him skin from bone,
And the miller he has served him worse than that,
For he has ground him between two stones.

And little Sir John and the nut brown bowl
And his brandy in the glass
And little Sir John and the nut brown bowl
Proved the strongest man at the last.

The huntsman he can't hunt the fox
Nor so loudly blow his horn
Without Sir John Barleycorn.

Ancient Egyptian Phrases and Freyashawk Age of Pyramids Group on Facebook

I always have loved languages.  The more obscure they are, the more they interest me.  I created a little Group on Facebook for Age of Pyramids, hoping that some of the players who use Global Chat in the game especially will join.  The Global Chat is essentially for game help and conversation is limited at best.  On Facebook, there is no limit to the amount of conversation a player can have with others.

It occurred to me that it would be interesting if we learned a few basic phrases in Ancient Egyptian.  I believe it is most similar to modern Coptic.

I will create a page on this site for the phrases that you will be able to access through a tab link at the top of any post.

Meanwhile, however, here is the first phrase:

English:  Live forever!
Ancient Egyptian:  A'nkh djet!

It is a polite and very charming greeting.

Low Level Breeding Tip and Seasonal Creatures

First of all, some players wonder why I bothered to create a site for either Age of Pyramids or Creatures of Olympus when an extensive Wikia site exists.  The difference really is that my site does not include ANY adverts.  You can visit any page on this site and obtain information instantly without being forced to endure the loading of advertisements from outside iagents.  I never have allowed any advertising to be included with my guides and I never will.

That having been said, I wanted to share my recent 'Seasonal' experiences both in Age of Pyramids and in Creatures of Olympus and to share a trick for obtaining Creatures you cannot breed using the basic combinations simply because your level is not high enough to have unlocked the necessary habitats.

I began playing both of these games only in mid-June when I was in hospital for major surgery.  The internet connection was terrible, but I found that I could spend a brief time in Age of Pyramids, Creatures of Olympus and Fish Adventure Seasons where I was unable often to play a game like Family Farm Seaside.

Thus, when Hallowe'en came, my levels were still not high enough to have unlocked all Habitats.  In Age of Pyramids, I was unable to buy the Ha Habitat ab initio in the Underground, because I had not reached Level 45.  In Creatures of Olympus, I was unable to purchase the Bird Habitat in Hades or the Octopus Habitat in the Water Kingdom.

Low Level Breeding Trick
xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

I worked like a maniac and ultimately was able to unlock the Ha Habitat in Egypt Underground and in Olympus, the Octopus Habitat in the Water Kingdom but I was unable to progress far enough for the Bird Habitat in Hades.  Rather than spending a colossal number of Diamonds to purchase the Nightmare Horse outright, I bought the least expensive Bird and Wolf combination and used that to try to obtain the Nightmare Horse.  It took many attempts and many speed-ups but I did it in the end.  Having unlocked the Octopus Habitat, I was able finally to breed Kelpie after many unsuccessful attempts and speed-ups.

In Egypt, Freyashawk bought the Egyptian Bat outright and then used that to breed Djinni.

Ordinarly, I swear by the basic combinations both in Egypt and in Olympus.  Unless I am trying to clone a non-breedable creature, I use two basic creatures always in breeding.  Where a player has not been able to unlock one of the basic habitats, however, and is determined to breed a seasonal Creature, he/she shoudl go to the market to find the least expenive Creature who carries both the parent types needed for the Seasonal Creature.  You can place it in the Habitat you HAVE unlocked and then use it to breed the Seasonal Creature.  Along the way, you may breed another hybrid that carries the basic type you need but whose habitat is not yet unlocked, allowing you to have two breeding experiments at all times, even if you have not unlocked the high-level habitat.

The Nature and Timing of Seasonal Creatures
xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Halloween was the first time I encountered 'Seasonal Creatures' in both games.  I now know what to expect.  Initially, I had thought they would be pulled from the game the day AFTER Halloween, but there was a grace period that extended to Friday.  They were pulled from the game on Friday morning, P.S.T.  (Frismos operates from California).

What this meant was that, if you had the Seasonal Creature in your Breeding Castle or in the Nursery/Kindergarten, it would not vanish even when the Creature was pulled from the market.  I doubt, however, that you would be able to start a new breeding experiment and expect to obtain the Creature even that day if it no longer appeared in the Market.

The Creature who was in the Mystic Pyramid disappeared as abruptly and even if the player had just opened the door to the Chamber and should have had 6 days to try for it, the chamber no longer existed.  I had not expected THAT but it was confirmed by a number of players.

Seasonal Creatures are introduced before the actual Holiday date.  It appears that they are brought into the game gradually rather than being placed all at once.  One should not expect to have too many days AFTER the Holiday date to continue to try to breed the Creature but one does have a small grace period in each case, according to veteran players.

Halloween Creatures in Age of Egypt

Denwen was released last week as a Creature who could be won in the Mystic Pyramid Shuffle game.  Now we have the Lycan of Giza, who can be bred in ordinary fashion using Jackal and Human.  Breeding time is 1 day, 12 hours.

At the same time, there are special seasonal Creatures in the Underground.  One of these is Djinni, an entirely new Creature and the other is the Egyptian Bat, from a previous year but brought back to us for the season.

Both Creatures are breedable so long as they appear in the Market.

Djinni is bred from Ha and Scorpion with a breeding time of 2 days.

The Egyptian Bat is bred from Ha and Bennu and has a breeding time of 1 day.

The Creatures of Olympus Game has some seasonal Creatures as well.  Two of these were promotional purchases in the form of the Sinner Goat and now, Count Dracula.  In these cases, you must purchase the Creature within a 24 hour period.  Once purchased, you should be able to clone it, but you will not be able to breed an original.

The Sinner Goat is an older Creature, Goat and Eagle who can abide in either of those Habitats.  Count Dracula is a Royal Creature who only can be placed in the Royal Habitat.

The other Halloween Creatures ARE breedable by ordinary methods.  Two are in Hades and the other is in the Water World.

The Hades Creatures are the Wolf of Macedon and the Nightmare Horse.  The Wolf of Macedon is bred from Wolf and Kobalos with a breeding time of 1 day and 11 hours.  The Nightmare Horse is from a previous year and is a Fire Creature bred from Bird and Wolf with a breeding time of 2 days

Kelpie is the Creature for the Water World, bred from Octopus and Seahorse with a breeding time of 2 days and 8 hours.

How to Breed a Seasonal Creature without meeting Level Requirements
xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

This option does require an investment in premium Cash (Diamonds) but one would hope not as many as if one were to purchase the seasonal Creature outright.

Some Seasonal Creatures, like the Lycan of Giza, do not require very high levels for the player as he is bred from Jackal and Human and neither Habitat requires a high level of Experience in the game.  In other cases, however, as in the case of the Halloween Underground Creatures this year in the form of Djinni and the Egyptian Bat, both of whom are bred from Ha, you need to be at Level 45 in order to unlock the Ha Habitat.

How then can you hope to obtain either of these Creatures if your Level is lower unless you spend 750 Diamonds for the Egyptian Bat or 1100 Diamonds for Djinni?  Well, there is a way...  but only if you have unlocked the habitat for the OTHER half of the breeding equation.

Djinni is bred from Ha and Scorpion.  The Egyptian Bat is bred from Ha and Bennu.  If you are willing to spend a few hundred Diamonds, you can purchase the least expensive Creature that has Ha as half of the equation and then try to breed these Creatures.  You will have a better chance of success if the Creature is Ha and Scorpion or Ha and Bennu but even if it is Ha with a Creature that is not part of the Djinni or Egyptian Bat equations, you may be able to obtain the Halloween Creatures.

An example for this particular exercise would be Mathayus priced at 450 Diamonds.  He is Scorpion and Ha, like Djinni.  Buy him, place him in the Scorpion Habitat and then pair him with a Scorpion to try to obtain Djinni... or having placed him in the Scorpion Habitat, you then can pair him with Bennu to try to obtain the Egyptian Bat.  The problem with the latter pair is that it could create a Creature that is Bennu and Scorpion rather than Bennu and Ha.

Note that Frismos gives a grace period to farmers for seasonal Creatures.  In other words, you should have to the end of the week to be able to breed one.  Results always are random, however, within the group created by the same pairing.

Denwen, new Seasonal Creature in Mystic Pyramid Shuffle

A new creature appeared today in the Mystic Pyramid.  For those who have gone through the entire sequence, it will be avaialbe in the Shuffle game immediately.  For those who still have other creatures to win, it will appear in the last chamber.

It is Denwen, who inhabits the Vizier habitat when obtained.   Denwen will vanish in a puff of black smoke while bats circle the area, then reappear.  Quite a draamatic addition to Egypt!

Please note that a comprehensive breeding list for Egypt and one for Creatures of Olympus are found in the tabs above every post on this site, including this one.

Comprehensive Breeding Lists for Age of Pyramids and Creatures of Olympus

Visitors to this site have missed the actual Breeding Lists for Age of Pyramids and Creatures of Olympus, probably because they are not familiar with sites hosted by Google.  The comprehensive Breeding Lists for both games are to be found in tabs that appear ABOVE every post.  Look above this post and you will see both game lists.  Much of the information was logged originally by players of these games and I am indebted in particular to Julie Tobako, aka Aeriawyn.  There is an excellent global forum in Age of Pyramids where players exchange information and you usually can find some one who has succeeded in breeding a new Creature.  There is no such forum in Olympus, however, making a Breeding List much more significant.  The only reason my site may be preferable to the Wikias is because I refuse to allow advertising on my sites.  This allows any user to access my information quickly and easily, whatever the age of his/her computer or tablet.

New Creatures in Egypt

It always is exciting when new Creatures make an appearance and lately, there have been quite a few.  First there was Jakura and then Crocomau...  Then, a new Habitat with a new Creature in the form of the Vizier Habitat and Vizier were released.  Now, we have a new Creature in the Underground named Scorb and a second Creature for the new Vizier Habitat in the form of Itet.  The Combination needed to breed the Scorb is given: Bennu and Scorpio but no one had the time until now:  It is 1 day, 4 hours.

For the past couple of days, every one has been scrambling to try to discover the combination that creates Itet as, like the Sand Creatures, the Scoreboard or Almanac icon does not display the combinations for Vizier Creatures.   Today, it has been revealed.  Cat and Hawk will create Itet randomly in 1 day, 12 hours.  It is a fairly low probability, but that is the combination.

For those who are not inclined to go to my breeding page, Crocodile and Human create Nebet randomly in two days.  The lesser creatures, Jackura and Crocomau are as follows:  Jakura is created from Jackal and Serpent in 14 hours.  Crocomau is created randomly from Cat and Crocodile in 17 hours.

You will find a comprehensive list of all breeding combinations and their results on the Breeding List page of this site found in a link ABOVE every post.  Look above this post for the tabs and you will find a page devoted to Egypt Breeding and one to Creatures of Olympus Breeding.

On 27 September, another new Creature has appeared in the Underworld in the form of Scaroheq.   Breeding time is 22 hours and the combination, given in the Scoreboard or Almanac, is Frog and Scarab.  I do not know if it is an easy breeding project but I was able to obtain it almost immediately.

Another new Creature appeared in Egypt on 30 September in the form of Herumau, a Cat and Hawk breed that takes 22 hours.

Basic Walkthrough

My first post on this site gives basic instructions about the game, but here I will try to list the tasks you should perform initially in some detail to give a new player a good start.  You will find a link to that comprehensive post always on the right side of the Main Site.

For example, in a section below that is headed as 'Breeding', you will find a very detailed set of instructions on the basic mechanism of breeding your Creatures.  This will be useful only to a new player.  Once you have completed the process once, you will know precisely what you need to do each time.

1.  Goals, Habitats, Creatures, Stone and Food

Always look at your Goals and try to complete them.  The game offers basic tutorials in the form of 'Goals'.  At first, it will tell you to build a habitat and place a Jackal in it, I believe.  It will try to persuade you to use a Speed-up to complete this task faster.  Resist.  Use your Diamonds (premium cash) wisely.   (To be honest, though, you will be reimbursed in the Reward.) The Jackal Habitat will be completed within a minute even without a speed-up.  The game then will instruct you to send a ship for Stone.  This is an essential component of the game.  You will need a lot of Stone for building.  All habitats use Stone as do other Buildings if they do not require Premium Cash to build.  You need to pay attention to the transport ships and always try to have one on its way on the river.

Food is another requirement.  You need Food to transform your infant or teenage Creatures into adults.  A Creature cannot breed until he/she is at Level 4.  Build a few Food Farms.  Later in the game, when you have restored the Mystic Pyramid, harvest of any food farm or habitat may give you Scarabs randomly as well as Food or Coins.  Scarabs are needed to play the Shuffle game in the Mystic Pyramid... but that is much later!

Food is an essential component of the game.  By feeding your Creatures, you gain Experience Points, allowing you to reach higher levels quickly.  A high level Creature does not have a better chance of begetting a rare Creature when bred but it will generate more Coins in the Habitat than the same Creature at a lower level.

The Statues are a method by which your Creatures can be 'fed' to reach first Level 15 and then Level 20.  More about that later.  This is an advanced option which you need not worry about initially. Level 10 is the default highest level for almost any Creature to reach.  There are one or two exceptions.

Once you have completed the initial Goals of building your first Habitat, buying and placing your first Creature, unlocking your first Ship and sending it on its way for Stone as well as building your first Food Farm and planting a Crop, your Goals will be based more on specific Breedings than anything else, although there are some that are related to Coin totals and such.

Goals all have Rewards in the form of Coins, XP and Diamonds.

Here is an example of the Goals list for a player who is mid-level:

More mature Creatures
Upgrade 5 Creatures to Level 10
  Rewrads: 10000 Coins, 500 XP, 1 Diamond

Horusobe
Breed Crocodile and Hawk until you get Horusobe.
  Rewards: 7500 Coins, 350 XP, 2 Diamonds

Flying Snakes Legend
  Breed and get Wadget
  Rewards: 2500 Coins, 1000 XP, 1 Diamond

More Level 10 Creatures
Own 15 Creatures of Level 10
  Reward: 35000 Coins, 1580 XP, 5 Diamonds

Note here that another player at the same level could have achieved all or none of these goals.  The player with these goals currently on the screen has bred Creatures that are far more difficult to obtain than Horsobe or Wadget in terms of probability but did not have these yet.  All breeding is random, after all.  I am including these Goals only as an example of the Rewards that one can obtain.

2.  Friends are important in this game as visits will alow you to collect rewards whenever you see the icon of an open hand over a neighbour's habitat and leaving a gift for a neighbour or friend will allow that individual to reciprocate.  Although gift exchange is not mandatory, it is a good way to obtain valuable rewards in the form of Coins, Stones, Food or Scarabs.  Ultimately, if you have real friends in the game or belong to a Club, you will find it easier to obtain gifts on a regular basis.  You can add any player from the Community Tab in the Socail Menu to your Friend List but you may find that many do not play the game actively and as there is a limit of 15 on the number of gifts you can send on any given day, you may find that sending gifts to random high level players who have their own friends will not result in a gift for you!

3.  Experience Counts.

Although the result of any Breeding experiment ALWAYS is random within the limits given by the game, your own Experience Level will unlock new Habitats and other options.  You gain Experience through the tasks and goals you complete.  One of the goals will be to bring a specific number of your Creatures to Level 10.  This is the maximum level allowed unless you have the appropriate creature Statue that will give you the ability to increase your Creature's Level to 20 when the Statue is fully upgraded.  Meanwhile, though, you actually can obtain the most difficult Creatures if your breeding pair is only at Level 4.  It is random!

4.  Know your Creatures

The Scoreboard that is found to the right of your Kingdom, sporting the Eye of Horus at the top, is very important.  When you tap on it, you will be given access to the Creature List.  The Creatures you have obtained in the past will be highlighted.  Those you have not obtained will be greyed out.  Moreover, when you tap on any Creature, you will see a description of it as well as the icons of the two parents needed to breed it.  There are exceptions to this in the form of the Sand Creatures and the Vizier.  Although they are shown in the Scoreboard, the only icon displayed is that of their species or habitat, to wit, Sand or Vizier.  This guide of mine, however, shows ALL the breeding pairs as well as Seasonal Creatures and Non-Breedable Creatures that are obtained only through Special Offers, the Mystic Pyramid or the Revive Pyramid.  Look above any post, including this one, to find tabs that are links to Breeding Charts.  One is for this game and the other is for Creatures of Olympus, a similar game with an Ancient Greek Theme.

5.  Optional Buildings

There are optional buildings in Egypt that either offer mini-games or an opportunity to obtain Creatures that you cannot breed in the ordinary way.  The buildings that can be unlocked are:

At Level 15, you can unlock and build the Race Course.  This is strictly a mini-game wherein you can race your own Creature against random opponents (game-generated rather than neighbours' Creatures) for prizes in the form of Stone, Food, Coins or Scarabs.

At Level 20, you can unlock the Chat Room.  This is far more useful than it might appear at first glance.  Although it may be fun to chat with random players in the Global area, and even useful to obtain game tips from them, it is the Club that is most important.  Join a Club or create one with your friends to obtain help with Speed-ups.  You can request speed ups for your Breeding, your Nursery/Kindergarten, your Food Farm, your Transport Ships or your Quarry.

At Level 25, you will unlock and can restore the Mystic Pyramid.  This is a mini-game where cards are shuffled.  Currency is in Scarabs that can be obtained in gifts, randomly by harvesting food farms or habitats or can be purchased with Diamonds.  With Scarabs, you can buy one card.  If when it is turned up, it displays the Creature in the Chamber that is currently open, you will obtain that Creature.  About half of the Creatures in the Mystic Pyramid cannot be obtained through ordinary breeding.

At Level 35, you will unlock the Sanctuary or Lighthouse.  It is here that you can sacrifice your extra Creatures for tokens of different colours.  If you build the Revive Pyramid, you can use those tokens to revive rare Creatures that cannot be obtained in any other fashion.

Breeding your Creatures
xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Breeding Creatures is the fundamental point of the game and there are three steps to any Breeding experiment:

1.  Tap on a Breeding Nest or Breeding Castle to open the Creatures Menu.  Any Creature that is NOT in Inventory and has been fed to the point where it is Level 4 (adult) or higher will be available for breeding.  Choose Creature 1 and Creature 2 and then choose 'Breed'.  The two Creatures will be moved temporarily from their Habitats to the Breeding Nest/Castle and you will see how long the duration of the breeding experience will last immediately in a little icon that will appear over the Breeding Nest or Castle.   (The duration of any Breeding experiement is an indication of the identity of the resulting Creature.  Refer to the Breeding List page, located above every post as as tab.)

2.  When the Breeding time in the Nest or Castle reaches zero, the time will change to 'Completed'.  Tap on the Icon that shows the two Creatures to move the infant instantly to the Nursery/Kindergarten.  This is a building that will be on your Kingdom ab initio with a single cradle in it.  It can be upgraded to accommodate two cradles, allowing you to grow two different Creatures at the same time.  This upgrade is important to a serious player as some breeding experiences can take 2 days.  The time spent in the Nursery/Kindergarten will be of the same duration as the initial breeding time, which means that a Creatures that takes 2 days to hatch will have to stay in the Nursery for 2 days as well.

3.  When the Creature is grown to the point where it can leave the cradle, a little circle on the footboard of the cradle itself will flash.  Until then, you will see a green line gauge.  Tapping on it will give you the remaining time needed to grow the Creature to what the game calls 'teenage' stage.  You can use Speed-ups to decrease the time needed, as you can with the breeding time itself, but it is a waste of diamonds.  Be patient!

When the Creature is ready to leave the Nursery, tapping on the Cradle will open a menu that will give you two options:

Move
Sell

If, when you attempt to Move the Creature, you do not have a free slot in any finished Habitat, you will be forced to choose again, to 'Move' or Sell'.  If again you choose 'Move', you will have the option to move the Creature into your Inventory.  Ordinarily, between 'Sell' and 'Move', 'Move' is the better option for a couple of reasons.  First, you may be able to build another Habitat to house the Creature and you then can move it out of Inventory onto the Land.  If it is a new Creature, you definitely will want to make certain it can be housed somewhere on your Land.  Even if it is not a new Creature, any Creature in a Habitat will generate Coins.  As the game progresses, you can switch Creatures in habitats to make certain that you are housing the highest earners and placing them in the Habitat that will allow the largest maximum Collection of Coins.  But that is for the future...

Another option that is for the future is that of making a Sacrifice of your Creatures for Tokens that can be used to Revive rare Creatures.  This option is unlocked only when you reach Level 35 but if you have saved a number of Creatures in your Inventory, you will be in a good condition to Revive a Creature fairly soon afterwards.

After Moving your Creature into a Habitat, you should tap on the Habitat and then tap on the icon of the Creature in the Habitat to open a menu that will allow you to 'Feed' it.  All the food you have harvested from your Food Farms will be available and you need to feed the Creature at least until it reaches Level 4, which is the adult stage.  It can be raised to Level 10, making it the highest possible earner of its type until you unlock the Statues.   Statues are for a later stage, however.  At the start, feed your Creature first to Level 4 to be able to use it in breeding and then to Level 10 to allow it to generate the greatest number of Coins.

Scarabs
xxxxxxxx

You may obtain Scarabs in Gifts even before you unlock the Mystic Pyramid.  The gift will contain 30 Scarabs in those cases.  You will not SEE the Scarabs anywhere on your screen until you have unlocked the Mystic Pyramid.  You then will be able to use any Scarabs in the Shuffle Game.

Although the first two Shuffles do not cost much, if you do not win the Creature immediately, the cost will increase.  Some players say that you have only ONE chance to obtain them.  The doors when they shut, close forever.  I will have to confirm this in another game.

Scarabs are found randomly in collections from habitats, harvests of food and gifts.  If you are involved in trying to obtain a Creature, my advice is to grow the shortest term harvests on your Food Farms, and collect as frequently as possible.  You are as likely to obtain Scarabs in a harvest of Wheat as Onions for example, but the Wheat can be harvested almost immediately.

The Race Course is another potential source of Scarabs, although again, everything is random and the prizes may not include Scarabs at all.  When they do, however, the total can be anything from 25 to 200 Scarabs.

Again, the number of Scarabs collected from ANY source apart from the Race Prizes always is 30.

Here is a tip from Pharaoh Dave about the Mystic Pyramid and the collection of scarabs.  New players will not understand perhaps when they receive Scarabs in a gift because they cannot use them for anything at that early stage in the game, but you actually may need thousands of Scarabs if you wish to collect every Creature from the Mystic Pyramid without spending Diamonds to do it.

Pharaoh Dave suggests that you WAIT before you begin to play the Shuffle game.  Do not open any Chamber too quickly because once you do, each will expire after 6 days and you may find the cost of obtaining some of the Creatures prohibitive.  The Shuffle game always is random, despite the claims of some players as to the location of the Creature on the board.  In fact, it can be ANYWHERE.  By collecting as many Scarabs as possible BEFORE you open the first Chamber, you will be in a good situation to play using only Scarabs in case you are not fortunate enough to find the Creature initially or quickly.  The cost of turning over the next card quickly escalates!

The only potential problem with this strategy is the introduction of a Seasonal Creature which usually will occupy the LAST chamber.  If you have not opened the other Chambers previously, you may not have access to the seasonal Chamber.

 Mystic Pyramid
xxxxxxxxxxxxxx

I have written about this option in another post on this site, but it is here that you can play a mini-game called Shuffle to win rare Creatures by betting Scarabs.   A number of the Creatures in the Mystic Pyramid can be obtained by breeding.  If the door opens to one of THESE Creatures, I suggest you ignore it and allow it to expire.  Breed the Creature instead.  The following are the Creatures that CANNOT be bred:

Sekhmet
Horunaje
Meretseger
Tefnut
Apis
Tahallah

The one Creature that may be in a different category from all the others is Horinama.  This is what is known as a seasonal creature which means that it will appear in the ordinary Market in the Creatures section during a specific season of the year.  ANY Creature that appears in the Market can be bred when it is in the Market.  In other words, you CAN breed Horinama yourself but only during that season.  That being the case, however, it is not necessary to use your valuable Scarabs to win this Creature.  Save them for the ones that never can be obtained in any other fashion.

In the Mystic Pyramid, a door will open to reveal a Creature only for the period of one week.  You must win that Creature within that time period before the door shuts and the next one opens.  If, however, you do not win the Creature and the door shuts, you will have the opportunity to purchase the Creature outright for 650 Diamonds.  While the door is open and you are playing Shuffle, you always can purchase the Creature for Diamonds and in most cases, the amount of Diamonds needed will be less than 650 as every Shuffle with Scarabs brings down the price until you reach a price that is between 400 and 500.   Once the door shuts, the price goes up to 650 so if you are willing to pay Diamonds for the Creature, it is better to do so before the door shuts.

Shuffle price increases with each Shuffle.  There may come a point where you have insufficient Scarabs to bet and have to choose whether or not to pay Diamonds to BUY Scarabs.  I have found that this is a better option than purchasing the Creature outright but it is luck and nothing more.

Many players swear that it is more likely you will find the Creature on the outer limits of the Shuffle table or in the very centre but actually it IS random.  I have found that when you have a Chamber open, THAT Creature will be situated repeatedly in the same rows for the most part, but it is random and choosing the RIGHT card still can be troublesome.  There have been some situations where a Creature was buried in third row of the Table or another inside position for example and seldom moved to the corners or even to the very middle where some players find it frequently in their Shuffles..

Unlocking Underworld Habitats
xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

I did not log early requirements but:

Frog Habitat unlocks at Level 33
Bennu Habitat unlocks at Level 40
Ha Habitat unlocks at Level 45

Below, I have created a blow-by-blow account of a new Kingdom with all early goals and new options that were unlocked.

New Kingdom Tutorial aka Actual Walkthrough
xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Note:  I created a new kingdom on an old device to see if I could log the levels at which the early new options appeared.  The following is the result:

Build a Habitat
This is your first Goal.  Tap Shop button to build new habitat
You will see:  Creatures, Habitats, Buildings, Decor, Inventory

Choose Habitat and choose the Jackal Habitat for 100 Coins.
Choose Buy and then place it anywhere you like.

Speed Up
  Let's speed up building process.
Ignore this prompt!  It takes only a minute to build the Jackal Habitat.  The minimum cost for ANY speed-up, even one for a few seconds, is 1 Diamond.  That is premium cash wasted!

Complete Building
  Complete Building and claim exp.

By tapping on the building, you complete it.

Level up!  This takes you to Level 2.

First Creature
Now let's buy your first creature.

Go to the Market, choose Creatures, and choose the Jackal for 100 Coins, then place it in the Habitat.

Feeding Creature
Time to feed your Creature to make it grow.
  Reward: 200 Coins, 5 XP

Tap on the Habitat and a menu will open.  You will see an icon of each Creature currently in the habitat.  Tap on the Jackal and you will see a Feed Bar beneath its portrait.  Tap on it repeatedly.  You need to grow it to adulthood, which is Level 4.

Level Up:  You now are at Level 3.

Almanac
See your Creatures in the Almanac.

This is a building to the right of your kingdom that looks like a socreboard with an Eye of Horus at the top.  Tap on it to access the list of Creatures.  Any Creature you have obtained will be highlighted and all others will be greyed out.

Food for Creatures
Build a farm to grow food for your creatures.

Go to the Shop, go to Buildings and choose the Food farm for 50 Stone.  You began the game with 900 Stones.  Buy the Farm and place it anywhere.  The prompt will suggest a speed-up but ignore this.

Grow Food
Tap on the farm to seed crops
The Food Menu will open, giving you the following choices:

  Wheat: 5 Food
    45 Coins, 30 seconds

  Lentils
  25 Food, 5 minutes

  Corn
    85 Food, 30 minutes

You can upgrade your Food Farm for more choices.

The game will prompt you to speed up the growth but resist.

Harvest
Tap the Farm to harvest your Crops.

Hire a Ship
Time to buy a ship to get stone from carriers.
Price of first ship: 50 Stone

The game will prompt you to use speed ups but again resist.  It only takes a minute to build a ship.

Complete Building and claim XP.

Buy Stones
Go to map to send your ship to stone carriers.

Tap on the Ship and open the map, then choose a destination
  You will have the following:

Saqqara: Price 150 Coins, 25 Stone, 30 seconds

Helwan: Price: 750 Coins, 100 Stone, 5 Minutes

Again the prompt to use speed ups, ignore!

At this point, you may see a one=time offer for 10000 Food, 50 Diamonds and 50000 Coins for 2.99.  It is well worth the price.

Follow Goals.

Now you can access the Goal MEnu at your leisure.  It will contain the following:

Build a Cat Habitat
  Reward: 5 XP

Time for a Cat
  Buy a Cat and place.
  Rewards: 250 Coins, 5 XP, 75 Food

Grow your Cat
Feed and upgrade Cat to Level 4
  Rewards: 350 Coins, 20 XP, 30 Food

Harvest Wheat
  Harvest Wheat 3 times.
  Rewards: 300 Coins, 10 XP, 35 Food

At Level 3, the Shop has the following:

Jackal Shrine:  Unlocks at Level 30

Cat Shrine: Level 30

Serpent Shrine: Level 30

Croc Shrine:  Level 30

Human Shrine: Level 30

Hawk Shrine: Level 30

Revival Pyramid:  Level 35

At Level 3, the maximum number of Habitats you can place is 4.  You can have 3 Food Farms and only 1 Ship.

Clearing the Land
xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

This will be listed in your Goals but you can clear rock formations, ruins, Trees, Bushes and Weeds from your land at any time.  Reward is XP.

At Level 4, you will gain a ship.  You therefore can have 2 Ships at Level 4 and you will unlock the Serpent Habitat.

Serpent Habitat: 500 Stones, 60 XP
  Takes 6 hours to complete

The next goal may be clearing the land:

Expand your Territory
  Clear 3 Small Bushes
  Reward: 350 Coins, 15 XP

Each small Bush requires 50 Coins to clear.

Unfortunately, having played the game before, I simply went ahead and bought a Breeding Nest before it appeared as a Goal.

As a Goal:

Breeding Nest Goal
  REward: 10 XP, 40 Stones, 1 Diamond

Breed Cat with Jackal
Tap Breeding NEst then tap Heart Icon from bottom menu to breed
  Rewards: 400 Coins, 10 XP, 1 Diamond

Level 5: You gain another habitat, so you now can have a total of 5 Habitats.

New Goals:

Send Ship
Send ship to Saqqara Carrier and claim stone
  Rewards: 500 Coins, 2 Diamonds

Time for second farm
  Buy your 2nd Farm
  Rewards: 250 Coins, 5 XP

To level up quickly, feed your Creatures to higher levels.  Feeding the Jackal to Level 7 brought me to Level 6 instantly.  This gives you another Food Farm.

At Level 6, therefore:
  5 Habitats
  4 Food Farms
  2 Ships

Leveling the Cat to Level 6 brought me to Level 7, where you obtain another Habitat.

Thus, at Level 7:
  6 Habitats
  4 Food Farms
  2 Ships

Bringing the Cat to Level 8 brought me to Level 8.  Leveling the Jackel up to Level 8 took me to Level 10.  Leveling Jackal to Level 9 took me to Level 11.

At Level 11, you are given another habitat and 1 more ship.

So, at Level 11:

8 Habitats
5 Food Farms
3 Ships

Furthermore, the Crocodile Habitat is unlocked.

Crocodile Habitat
  4500 Stones, 1750 XP

Breed Jackal with Cat Goal can have a number of different results.  The most likely will take only 30 minutes.

At Level 11, the Map destinations will have expanded to include the following:

Saqqara

Helwan

Dahshur: 1500 Coins, 30 minutes for 150 Food

Lahun: 2000 Coins, 30 minutes, 250 Food

The next destination of Herakleopolis unlocks at Level 12
Beni Hasan unlocks at Level 13
Hermopolis unlocks at Level 14
Armana will unlock at Level 22
Asyut unlocks at level 22
Sohag unlocks at Level 25

New Goal:

Harvest Lentils
Harvest Lentils 2 times in Farm
  Rewards: 400 Coins, 125 Food

Special Pack
Only Chance to Get
Nut Skygod 4.99

Bought 2nd Ship, Bought Crocodile Habitat and went to Level 12.

Crocodile Habitat takes 12 hours to complete

To upgrade your Nursery/Kindergarten, you must pay 10 Diamonds.  It takes only 10 seconds to complete the project, which consists of placing a second cradle in the existing building.

Is it essential to perform the upgrade?  Well, no, it is not essential but as you progress, you will find that many of the Breeding Projects take a long time to complete.  The time spent in the Nursery is equal to the time spent in breeding, so a cradle may be occupied for two entire days.... having two cradles does make the game more interesting.

At Level 13, you gain another habitat.  and at Level 14, another, giving you a total of 9.

Breedings with Jackal and Cat
xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Although the actual results of any Breeding experiment are random, there is a short list of Creatures that can be obtained with a Cat and a Jackal.  The time each takes determines the identity of the result.  Here are the possibilities:

Anumau:  Breed time: 30 Minutes
Mauasha: Breed Time, 25 Minutes
War Horse: Jackal and Cat, Breed Time, 1 day
High Priest Jack-a-Roo, Breed Time ?

Other Goals
xxxxxxxxxxx

These are goals I completed incidentally before they appeared so I have only the rewards:

  5 XP, 1 Diamond, 50 Stone

New Breedings can be done
  Breed Serpent with Cat
  Rewards: 250 Coins, 30 XP

New hybrids
  Breed Serpent with Jackal
  Rewards: 250 Coins, 30 XP

Better Farm
Upgrade one of your farms to Level 2
  Rewards: 500 Coins, 75 Food, 50 Stone

At Level 15, 1 more Habitat, 1 More Food Farm

At Level 15, I noticed that, although I had been able to purchase all the habitats that had been unlocked, apart from the Sand Habitat, I really was unable to take full advantage of all the new breeding possibilities as I had only the original Breeding Nest, occupied by a single breeding experiment.  Yes, I had upgraded the Kindergarten/Nursery in order to be able to have two immature Creatures at the same time within it, but with a slow Breeding project in the Nest, there was nothing I could do, unless I were willing to spend Diamonds on speed-ups.  I do not recommend this course to other players, so would not use it myself at this point...  It is only at Level 20 that the Breeding Castle is unlocked and THAT is the reason to save your Diamonds!  You will need premium Cash to purchase the Breeding Castle.

Need Corn Goal
  Rewards; 500 Coins, 75 XP
(Completed without seeing it on screen... think you have to harvest corn three times)

Some Goal about Gifting Neighbours I believe, but did not catch it before the prompt about completing it vanished.

Your third ship costs 500 Stone.  When purchased, all ships complete within a minute.

Jumping Cobra? Goal
  Breed Cobrau
  Rewards: 1000 Coins, 150 XP, 1 Diamond

Note that many of these Goals will not appear UNTIL you complete them.  You then will see the prompt that tells you that you have completed the Goal.  The Cobrau Goal was one such Goal that was not seen on the screen until completed.

Optional Buildings Levels
xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Race Course can be recovered at Level 15
Chat Room can be recovered at Level 20
Mystic Pyramid can be recovered at Level 25
Sanctuary (Lighthouse) can be recovered at Level 30

The Second Kingdom in the form of the Underground can be opened free of charge when you have obtained a total of 30 Creatures.  With only 4 Creatures, the cost of opening it would be 416 Diamonds.
xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Advanced Goals

At Level 34, you get 2 more Habitats in the Underground Kingdom for a total of 18.  In Egypt, you will have a total of 26.

The sixth ship costs 50,000 Stones.

Underground Kingdom
xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

The Underground or 2nd Kingdom
xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Unlocking the Underground or 2nd Kingdom is not determined by your Level but by the number of Creatures you have obtained... you can PAY to unlock it if you haven't obtained sufficient Creatures but this would be counterproductive.  The fact of the matter is that the Underground is extremely expensive compared to the 1st Kingdom.  If you haven't obtained sufficient Creatures to unlock it without paying, you probably have not amassed sufficient Coins or Stones to build anything there!

The first Creatures available in the Underground are the Scarab and the Serpopard.  Here are the costs for embarkation upon the Underground:

Scarab Habitat: 135,000 Stone

Scarab: 750,000 Coins

Serpopard Habitat: 270,000 Stone

Serpopard: 2,500,000 Coins

The Nursery/Kindergarten will be in situ when you unlock the 2nd Kingdom but you will have to purchase and build a Breeding Nest for 300,000 Coins.  It will take only a minute to complete.

Now you can breed your first Underground Creatures.  The Creatures that can be bred with this combination are:

Serpokhep:
  Sells for 100,000 Coins

Khepropard:
  Sells for 150,000 Coins

Scaropard
  Sells for 200,000 Coins

The reason I am giving their selling prices is that, once you fill your Habitats, you probably will be in a position to breed more of these before being able to afford the next Underground Habitat.  Unlike Egypt, the 1st Kingdom, where it is worth your while to SAVE all your extra Creatures in your Inventory in order to be able to use them as Sacrifices, Underground Creatures are not available for Sacrifice.  They are a good source of Coins, however, when sold, as you can see.

The next Habitat is the Scorpion Habitat which is even more expensive:

Scorpion Habitat:  450,000 Stones

Scorpion: 5,000,000 Coins

At Level 45, you will unlock the Ha Habitat.

At Level 47, you will unlock the Sorcerer Habitat.
  Cost is 1,900,000 Stones

You can upgrade the Sorcerer Habitat to house an additional two Creatures for 2,500000 Stone.  The upgrade takes 2 days to complete.

Strategies:
xxxxxxxxx

What you choose to do here is your own business.  Age of Pyramids is not a game that you win or lose.  Apart from some of the options, like the Mystic Pyramid that have time limits once activated, for the most part you have all the time in the world to expand your game and raise your Levels.

The Sand Habitat and Vizier Habitat in Egypt are the most expensive.  Sand Habitat costs 650,000 Stones and Vizier requires 700,000 Stones.  Whether you prefer to build these before building any Habitats in the Underground is your own choice.  There is no right or wrong way to play this game.  I do think that the first Building you should complete in the Underground is the Stone Quarry, however.  It generates the following:

10,000 Stone in 6 hours for 200,000 Coins
20,000 Stone in 12 hours for 400,000 Coins

Contrast this with the Ship Transports in Egypt where the most you can obtain in 6 hours is from Hermopolis for 20,000 Coins giving you only 2000 Stones.  If you wish to wait an entire day, you can pay 200,000 Coins to obtain 20,000 Stones.  Send your ship to Thinis for 2 days for 400,000 Coins to obtain 40,000 Stones.  If price is a consideration, yes, the ship transport gives you more Stones for each Coin spent but the time it takes is longer.

Sacrifices in Sanctuary or Lighthouse

Note on 18 November:  I wrote this post when I first unlocked the Sanctuary and Revive Pyramid.  Now I have almost all the Creatures and pop yet another poor unfortunate into the Boat that sets sail down the river as regular as clockwork, every 12 hours.  As a new Creature was added to the list today in the form of the Jackal King, it is obvious to me that one needs to keep the Sacrifices flowing even if one has exhausted the current list of Revival possibilities.  You never know when a new Creature will be offered!

Note on 5 January 2017:  The Jackal King was a Seasonal Creature who no longer appears in the Revive List.  A new Seasonal Creature in the form of the Vizier Reindeer has taken his place and no doubt will disappear soon from the list as well.  Given the fact that Seasonal Creatures now appear to be a fairly regular addition to the Revive Pyramid, it becomes even more important to Sacrifice on a daily basis, even if you have revived all existing Creatures.

The Grey Tokens are the most difficult to obtain.  No Winged Creature has a better than 20% chance of yielding one.  For the Vizier Reindeer, one needs a total of 8 Grey Tokens.  At the time of its release, I had only 6 in my possession.  I had to sacrifice at least 20 more Winged Creatures to obtain the 2 Grey Tokens I lacked.  Were it not for the fact that Diamonds were being offered at a sale price and I therefore was able to use speed-ups, I never would have achieved the goal in time.

I love this game but find this aspect of it rather gruesome.  There is a fundamental ethical issue here:  will I sacrifice living if virtual creatures in order to obtain rare ones???  I suppose I shall, but am a little ashamed of myself...

Here are the correspondences in terms of values:

Evidently, Creatures in Inventory are not eligible for Sacrifice, nor are Creatures lower than Level 4.  I do not see any point in using a high level creature.  They are NOT worth more in Tokens, nor do the percentages change at all.  Initially,  I took a Level 1 Auneckhe from Inventory and swapped him with a high level one, leveled him up to Level 4 and then renamed him 'Victim' so that there would be no confusion when I took him to the Altar.  Once in the Sanctuary, I chose the Victim and rather to my consternation, he was placed in a boat and sent down the river!  Very, very graphic... had thought the sacrifice would be hidden and more painless.

Another surprise is that the sacrifice process will take 12 hours.  I do not know if that is how long the journey itself will take towards whatever dark destination is his, or if that is a bureaucratic time period required to process the paperwork!  Anyway, gone is he and I await the result.

You CAN use speed-ups on any Sacrifice as well as on the process of Revival once it has begun.

Note that I received only ONE Token for the sacrifice of my poor Creature.  Initially, it was a long journey to the point where I could revive any one.

What I suspected was true:  it is not enough to unlock the Sanctuary.  One needs to build the Revive Pyramid should one ever wish to revive any Creature!  The cost is not dear in terms of Stone: only 30,000 Stones to build it.

Once built, you will see a list of the Creatures that can be revived with their costs:  I have to confess that I thought the amounts needed were outrageous until I realised I had misread them all grossly.   I was misreading the slash (/) as a seven or one I think!  Good thing no one really had used this guide yet.  I was sending creatures randomly down the river, thinking that it would take YEARS no matter what to earn enough Tokens to revive any one.  Now I shall attempt to sacrifice Creatures who will give the tokens I need.  I have almost enough amazingly to revive my first Creature.   Instead of 71 Blue Tokens, all I need is 1!  (This was written a few months ago.  I now have revived all existing Creatures, including the recent Seasonal ones).

Ammit: 2 Yellow Tokens,  1 Blue, 2 Red
  Time to Revive: 12 hours

Renenutet: 4 Yellow Tokens, 3 Purple, 1 Green
  Time to Revive: 1 Day

Behemoth: 5 Yellow, 1 Grey, 2 Blue, 3 Red
  Time to Revive: 2 Days

Manticore: 2 Grey, 5 Purple, 3 Green, 3 Red
  Time to Revive: 3 Days

Shezmu: 3 Silver Grey, 5 Purple, 4 Green, 4 Blue, 5 Red
  Time to Revive: 4 Days

Anibis: 5 Grey, 5 Purple, 6 Green, 4 Blue, 7 Red
  Time to Revive: 4 Days

On 18 November, a new Seasonal Creature was added to the list:

  Jackal King: 7 Grey, 7 Purple, 6 Green, 10 Blue, 5 Red

No longer active!

A new Seasonal Creature was added to the Revive Pyramid list for Christmas/New Year:

Vizier Reindeer:  8 Grey, 9 Purple, 7 Green, 8 Blue, 5 Red

Initially, I did not realise that there were Seasonal Revive Creatures in the same fashion as the Seasonal Creatures in the Market or Mystic Pyramid.  These are available only for a brief time during the Season to which they are attributed, so if you want one, make certain that you move quickly to Revive it.  It is where Seasonal Creatures are concerned that the use of speed-ups can be critical.

For example, when the Vizier Reindeer was released, I had all the Tokens needed to Revive him with the exception of two missing Grey Tokens.  If I had waited for the ordinary time period for Sacrifices, I never would have achieved the goal.  After all, the chance of obtaining a Grey Token from ANY winged Creature is only 20%.  I was obliged to Sacrifice at least 20 Winged Creatures before I obtained the 2 Grey Tokens that I lacked for the Vizier Reindeer.

N.B.  In view of the appearance of these Seasonal Creatures periodically, I suggest that all players Sacrifice their Creatures on a regular Basis to amass Tokens, even if they have revived all existing Creatures...

The Tokens all are objects or symbols.  The Grey is a wing,  the Purple is a Dagger, the Green is the Eye of Horus, Blue is flowing Water and Red is an Ankh.  I believe they are hieroglyphic letters actually.  I recognise a couple of them.  Have to look in one of my books on Ancient Egypt...

Mysteries Uncovered... or why you need a guide

I restored the Race Course early in the game and found it to be a waste of time, at least for me.  I have no desire to spend coins to race my Creatures, hoping I will beat the others that are entered randomly.  You do receive prizes if your creature wins, places or shows but it really was not useful early in the game.  After that, I basically ignored the other mini-quest and side building restorations to concentrate on Habitats and new Creatures.

What I did not realise was why one should unlock the Chat Room and Mystic Pyramid.  The Chat Room offers global access to players with good information sometimes.  Often the chats are rubbish but there are some gems as well.  More to the point, if you create or join an existing club, access is solely through the Chat Room and you will be able to solicit speed ups for your breeding, nursery (kindergarten, according to the game, although they are infants in cradles!), shipments, building projects and food harvests.  This is a very useful addition to regular gameplay.

Rare Creatures
xxxxxxxxxxxxxx

The Sand Creatures appear randomly and there is no guide within the scoreboard as to how to create them.  Thus interesting to find out from other players that:

Sand Lizard:  Hawk and Serpent.  Breeding time 2 days, 12 hours.  You can use Wadjet and Horucobra or any combination of Hawk/Serpent creatures as well.

Sand Bug: Jackal and Crocodile.  Breeding time: 2 days.

Sand Scorpion: Cat and Human; Breeding time: 2 days, 8 hours

Sand Wraith: Cat and Serpent: Breeding time is two days.

Other Rare Creatures:

War Horse:  Cat and Jackal; 24 hours

Nut Skygood:  Although she is a Sand Creature, she cannot be obtained through breeding, unless you use an existing Nut Skygood to do it.

Chat Room
xxxxxxxxxxx

If you join a Group, you can ask for speed up help in the Nursery or in the Kindergarten, in speeding the transport of your ships, your building projects and food harvests.  There is no limit as to the number of DIFFERENT speed ups you can request at any given time, but once requested, you have to wait until the option becomes active again.  This certainly is better than using premium cash!

Mystic Pyramid
xxxxxxxxxxxxxx

This is a mini-game that gives rare Creatures if you land on the right tile.  It is progressive and you buy a tile by using Scarabs.  Scarabs are obtianed randomly in gifts as well as when you harvest Food.  I now grow Corn (quick harvest) to try to obtain Scarabs.  Unfortunately, my luck always has been poor and I still have not won the creature Sekhmet.  I am going to assume that she can be bred randomly in your kingdom because the cost of purchasing her using Diamonds (premium cash) is utterly prohibitive!

Unfortunately, many of the creatures like Sekhmet that appear in the Mystic Pyramid ONLY can be obtained there.  When you access your Pyramid, you will find one chamber open probably.  Go to your Scoreboard to see whether or not the Creature is listed there as one that can be bred.  I have listed below the special Creatures that cannot be obtained through breeding.

You can obtain Scarabs randomly through many different actions, whether inside a gift, harvesting food or even collecting coins from your habitats.  It is random, always, and if you are not particularly lucky, you will not have enough to win the Creature currently on display!  If, however, you are lucky, you can win the Creature for less than 100 Scarabs in the first couple of attempts.  After that...

Lighthouse Building or Sanctuary
xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

This option is unlocked at Level 35 and costs 75000 Stone.  Like many of the other optional buildings, it takes a day to complete.  It is here that you sacrifice your extra Creatures to obtian coloured Tokens that can be used in the Revive Pyramid to revive rare Creatures that cannot be obtained in any other fashion.  Each Sacrifice takes about half a day to complete.  It is a grisly affair wherein the chosen Creature will be seen standing in a gilded boat going literally down the river to be executed.  You will not see the destination nor the actual act of Sacrifice, however.

Without the Revive Pyramid, unlocked at the same level, your Tokens will be unusable.  Buy and build the Revive Pyramid, then collect the Tokens required for each of the Creatures.  The time it takes to revive any Creature depends on the identity of that Creature.  Some can take 4 days to revive.  Others can be revived in a single day.

Building Your Second Kingdom
xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

At this point in time, you can have two separate Kingdoms in this game.  They each have their own Habitats and Creatures but the second is unlocked only by acquiring a specific number of different Creatures in the 1st Kingdom.    When you go to the Entrance to the Underground Kingdom and tap on it, you will see a list of Creatues similar to the Scoreboard.  It will show you how many you have obtained and how many more you need if you wish to unlock the 2nd Kingdom... if you do not have enough Creatures, you will be given the option to purchase entry.  The price in diamonds will depend on the number of Creatures you still lack.

The first thing you should know is that EVERYTHING in the 2nd Kingdom is far more expensive than the first.  It therefore makes no sense to unlock it early in the game.  In fact, I would recommend that players build all possible habitats in the first Kingdom before building any Habitats in the second Kingdom.  The most expensive Habitats in Egypt are the Sand and Vizier Habitats.   Sand requires 650,000 Stone and Vizier requires 700,000 Stone.

In the Underground, the first Habitat is the Scarab Habitat.  It costs 135,000 Stone anda Scarab will cost 750,000 Coins.  Remember that you need two different Creatures to breed, so you need the second Habitat in the form of the Serpopard Habitat costing 270,000 Stone.  A Serpopard will cost 2,500,000 Coins.

Then, although you are given a Nursery, the only building to exist in the Underworld when you enter it, you must purchase and build a Breeding Nest if you wish to breed these two Creatures.  That will cost you 300,000 Coins.  Fortunately, it only takes a minute to complete, allowing you to get right to business once you have the two initial Creatures.

As you can see, even an early breeding project is costly.  What I do recommend is that, once you unlock this 2nd Kingdom, you buy and build a Farm and a Stone Quarry as soon as possible.  The Stone Quarries are more efficient than the Ships.  A Stone Quarry will cost 300,000 Coins but will allow you to quarry 10,000 Stone for 200,000 Coins in 6 hours or 20,000 Stone for 400,000 Coins in 12 hours.  (A Stone Quarry can be upgraded as well.)

The Underground Food Farms are efficient as well.  Buy a Stone Quarry and Farm even if you are not ready to embark on Underground Breeding.  It will make your life easier in the end.

Creating your own Land of Ancient Egypt

(Screenshots of two of the mythical creatures obtained from crossbreeding in Ancient Egypt as well as a shot of a view of part of a player's land with its Habitats.)

I recently discovered Frismos games for mobile devices and I have to say that, although I love Fish Adventure Seasons and enjoy Creatures of Olympus, I never have encountered anything quite as breathtaking as the Ancient Egypt: Age of Pyramids game.

The graphics are amazing but in fact, gameplay is a little more complex than either of the other games made by Frismos that I mentioned.  Fundamentally, it follows the same principles of Creatures of Olympus, but I feel that the ancient Greek game is an older game and therefore its Egyptian counterpart is more complicated and sophisticated.

All three of these games are free.  You can purchase premium cash in the form of Diamonds in Age of Pyramids and use them for special items or speed-ups but you can find Diamonds in the game as well in gifts placed by your Neighbours.

When you first begin the game, you need to build Habitats and then purchase Creatures to inhabit them.  Habitats are build with Stones that have to be taken from a quarry.  In the initial land of Egypt, you obtain Stone by setting sail to specific destinations using the ships at the piers on the river Nile.  As your levels increase, you will be able to access bigger Stone quarries that allow larger yields.

The Market is divided into a number of categories:

Creatures
Habitats
Buildings
Decor
Inventory

Inventory actually consists of your storage space and will contain any Creatures or Decor that you have stored.  If you do not have the appropriate Habitat for a Creature that you have created through crossbreeding or you have no space in an existing habitat, you either can store or sell the Creature.  I recommend that you never sell a new Creature.   I even keep duplicates of some high earners.

Later, after you have unlocked the Sanctuary and purchased and built the Revive Pyramid, a Level 35 requirement, you will find that you need extra or duplicate Creatures as Sacrifices in order to collect the tokens that allow you to Revive rare Creatures that cannot be obtained through ordinary breeding.  It therefore is important to keep some Creatures in your Inventory for future use.  (It may sound a bit cold, but Sacrifice is the way of the ancient world!  Moreover, the ancient Egyptians believed that the Afterlife was a rich and wonderful world even better than this one, so who knows where your Creatures will be after they go down the river as Sacrifices?)

The first Habitat you will be able to build is the Jackal Habitat for 100 Stone.  Each habitat takes a different amount of time to build and has a different cost. The Jackal and Cat habitats are finished almost at once, however.  Do not yield to the game's prompt to speed up the building process.  It is a waste of a Diamond.  Simply ignore the prompt and wait for the habitat to be complete then tap on it to earn XP and finish it properly.  Now you can go to the Shop, to the Creatures department to buy a Creature for your habitat.  Do NOT buy the premium Creatures.  You can create all of these through crossbreeding and indeed this is the point of the game.  Instead,  once you have built one Jackal Habitat and one Cat Habitat, crossbreed the Jackal with the Cat.

N.B.  Here is an important tip about Breeding.  If you can find a Creature in the Market, YOU CAN OBTAIN THAT CREATURE THROUGH BREEDING!!!  It may be difficult or easy to obtain it by breeding, but it can be accomplished.  There is no need to spend your premium Cash in the form of Diamonds on Creatures in the Market.   Creatures offered as special Promotions in an icon on the left side of your screen, however, usually cannot be obtained through ordinary breeding.  If a Creature is offered as a special 24 hour promotion and you want it, buy it.  You may not have another chance!  Nut Skygood is an example of a special Promotion that is offered to new players often.  It is well worth the price, even if you cannot place her immediately as she requires the Sand Habitat.

Unlock your first Ship and tap on the Map to access all possible destinations, then pay to send out your Ship for Stones.  You will need Stones for the Serpent Habitat, the logical choice after you have the Cat and Jackal.

Another tip:  You ALWAYS need Stone for buidling throughout the course of your life in your Kingdom.  Always try to have ships in transport for Stones unless you are saving all your Coins for a specific Creature.  Creatures and Habitats become more expensive as you unlock them and everything in the 2nd Kingdom of the Underground is very expensive!  You unlock that second Kindgom essentially by obtaining a specific number of different Creatures.  Again, do not be tempted into paying Premium Cash or Diamonds to unlock the Underground early.  Chances are, you will not be able to afford to build anything there if you have not played long enough to amass the number of Creatures required to unlock it by default.

Breeding is done in one of two buildings:  a Breeding Nest or a Breeding Temple.  You will have the Breeding Nest from the start.  The Breeding Castle cannot be unlocked until you reach Level 20 I believe and then must be purchased with premium Cash in the form of 30 Diamonds.  You do not really NEED the Breeding Temple, but it allows you to have two ongoing breeding experiments at the same time.  I do recommend upgrading your Breeding Nest as soon as you are able to do so to have two cradles instead of one.  That allows you to grow two Creatures at once to maturity.

In the beginning, the Creatures that you breed probably will not take long to hatch but as you progress, you may find that you have obtained a Creature that will take more than a day to hatch.  Having two cradles make the game more interesting when this occurs.

Note that the more valuable Creatures have longer breeding times than the less valuable.  Players usually are happiest when the breeding time for a new pairing displays a long time period as this indicates that a rare and valuable Creature will be the result.

Tip:  When breeding itself is completed and your new Creature is moved to the nursery, you may be able to find it has been highlighted on the Scoreboard.  Some Creatures do not appear there at all, but if the Creature is listed, you will see it highlighted as soon as it moves into a Cradle.

One other very important aspect of the game is food.  You need to purchase and build Farms.  The cost is low at 50 Stone and any Farm can be upgraded.  When a Creature is grown sufficiently to leave the cradle and be placed in a Habitat, you still need to grow it at least to Level 4 if you wish to use it for breeding purposes.  Even at Level 1, however, it will generate coins if it is placed in a Habitat.

Here is where a guide may be useful.  At a certain point, a coin will appear above any occupied habitat, and you can tap on it to harvest all the Coins it contains.  You need not wait for this to occur, however.  Simply tap on any occupied Habitat and you will see an option to 'Collect' in the bar menu at the bottom of the screen.  Tap on that to collect every coin that has been generated.

The basic Creatures may be placed only in the Habitat that is natural to them.  In other words, the Cat must be placed in Cat Habitat and Hawk in Hawk Habitat.  For other creatures, however, who are hybreds, you have a choice of two habitats, unless the Creature belongs to the Sand or Vizier race.  A player who is new to the game may not notice the difference in terms of placement but in fact, some Habitats will allow you to earn more money than others.  It is not that the Creature generates more money but that the LIMIT that can be collected in the Habitat will differ from habitat to habitat.

An upgraded Habitat usually has a larger maximum Collection than the initial Habitat.   Here are a couple of examples:

A Cat Habitat at the initial level allows a maxmim collection of 10,000 Coins.

A Jackal Habitat at the initial level allows only 700 Coins.

The problem here is that the Jackal allows you to house 2 Creatures where the original Cat Habitat only allows 1 Creature.  When upgraded, the Jackal Habitat will house 3 but the Cat only will house 2.

Upgraded, the Cat Habitat allows a maximum collection of 50,000 Coins but the Jackal Habitat even when upgraded, only allows a maximum of 700 Coins still.

What this means is that the player who uses the Jackal Habitat over the Cat for those Creatures who are hybreds of both must log into the game constantly to collect Coins from it or lose a lot of money.

At the upper level of Habitats, the Hawk Habitat when upgraded is one of the best, offering housing to a total of 4 Creatures and allowing a maximum Collection of 90,000 Coins.    At the initial Level, however, it is less efficient than the upgraded Cat Habitat.  Both allow housing for 2 Creatures but the Cat allows a maximum collection of 50,000 Coins while the original Hawk Habitat allows a maximum Collection of only 30,000 Coins.

At the start of the game, however, you probably will not care about any of this and simply will focus on Breeding all possible Creatures and housing them SOMEWHERE.  It is only when you have sufficient Stones and Coins to build whatever you wish that you may change your choice of Habitats for certain Creatures.

For the other component here is that every Creature earns different amounts and the amount will change according to the Creature's Level as well.

At Level 1, for example, you will obtain only 7 coins per minute from the beautiful flying Horucobra.  At Level 10, however, the Creature will give you 35 Coins per minute.  This Creature is a mix of Hawk and Snake.  An upgraded Snake Habitat allows a maximum Collection of 12,,000 Coins and houses a total of 3 Creatures.   At its original level, it houses 2 Creatures and allows a maximum collection of only 5,000 Coins.

Finally, there is a limit to the number of Habitats that you can have on your Kingdom.  That limit changes according to your own Level of experience.   If you go to the Market to buy another Habitat of ANY kind once you have placed the maximum allowed at your Level, you will see a prompt to the effect that you only will be able to buy the Habitat once you reach a specific Level.  I became confused initially when I was trying to buy the Sand Habitat, a very expensive purchase requiring 650,000 Stones.  By the time I had amassed the necessary Stones and went to the Market, i saw a prompt telling me I could not buy it until I reached a higher level!  I had thought I would have been able to purchase it at a lower level had I possessed the Stones and I was correct.  It was only because I had the maximum number of Habitats allowed at my Level that I was unable to purchase the Sand Habitat.  To do so, I would have to sell off one of my existing Habitats or wait for an increase in Level that would allow me one more on my land.

The menu that you open by tapping on any Creature in a Habitat is the one that will allow you to grow your Creatures to higher levels.  Tap on the icon of any Creature occupying the habitat and then tap on the option to 'Feed' the creature.

Here again, a player who pays attention to details may be able to choose wisely in terms of which Creature to feed first.  Unlike Frismos aquarium game, where the fish become hungry on a daily basis and need to be fed before you can earn points by tickling or petting them, Egypt Creatures never need to be fed unless you wish to breed them or sacrifice them or earn more Coins from them.  Feed them to Level 4 to breed them or, once you have the Sanctuary, to sacrifice them to obtain tokens.  Feed them to the highest level possible to earn the maximum from them.

The default highest level for any Creature is Level 10.  There are Statues that can be purchased and built once you reach Level 30 that will allow you to breed your Creatues to levels above 10.  The highest Level if you have the appropriate Statue or Statues for any Creature is Level 20.

Note here that purchasing ONE of the Statues related to any hybred Creature will not allow you to increase its level above Level 10.  You need to have BOTH Statues related to it.  In other words, if the Creature was bred from a Hawk and a Human, you will need both the Human and the Hawk Statues if you wish to increase its Level above Level 10.

Crossbreeding two Creatures that are at Level 4 or higher can be quite exciting as the results are somewhat random and there are many possible results.  You even can obtain a Creature of an entirely different type such as Sand or Vizier.  You will not be able to place these until you advance much further in the game, but store them in view of the future.  They are quite rare.

Raising Levels
xxxxxxxxxxxxx

As in most games, the highesr your own Experience Level, the more options you will unlock.  The quickest way to raise your own levels in this game is to raise the levels of your Creatures.  Again and again, my own level increased when I fed my Creatures to Level 9 or 10.  This means that Food is essential.  ALWAYS keep food growing in your Food Farms and have as many upgraded Food Farms as possible.  Even if you are growing fast-growing Crops for the sake of potential collections of Scarabs while playing Shuffle in the Mystic Pyramid, have all your farms at their upgraded Level.  Food is a Gift from the Gods!

Keep your Eye on the Prize
xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

One learns through trial and error but I regret wasting money now on unlocking the Race Course when it was unlocked.  You do not NEED the Race Course or the Chat Building immediately.  I am going to have to bite the proverbial bullet to recover the Mystic Pyramid as it is the key to obtaining rare creatures.  Its description is:  You can win epic creatures here only by trying to outsmart the shuffle master.  At present, however, I feel that it is more important to build all of the habitats and I still have to build my first Sand Habitat and my first Vizier Habitat.

My advice therefore is to build ALL the habitats first without wasting Coins or Stone on mini-games.  Once you have completed this goal, you should work on the recovery of the Mystic Pyramid.  Race Course may be fun but really is not needed, in my view.   It does allow you to win Scarabs randomly but even so... The Chat Room, on the other hand, allows you to request speed ups for ANY activity from a member of your Clan/Club.  You can create your own Club or join an existing Club.   I believe that the Race Course is kind of a luxury item for a later date.  Certainly I would not opt to recover it before recovering the Mystic Pyramid.

Recovery of Mystic Pyramid
xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

The Mystic Pyramid is unlocked at Level 25.

I was pleasantly surprised to discover that the cost of recovering the Mystic Pyramid is only 40,000 Stone.  It does take a full day to complete, however.

This is where Frismos can make a lot of money if a player is determined to obtain a rare creature that cannot be created through crossbreeding.  The Mystic Pyramid is a mini-game that shuffles cards on a board and then asks for Scarabs to uncover a single card.  As you progress, the cost of uncovering cards becomes increasingly higher.  You can opt to purchase the Creature for Diamonds instead at any point... actually, that cost is about $20. more or less, U.S. currency.  If you find that you will be spending about that to uncover any further cards, either opt to purchase the Creature directly or give up!

The next post gives lists of all the Creatures that can be optained through the Mystic Pyramid.  Only one chamber will be open at any given time and you have almost a week to win it before the door shuts upon it.  Once the door shuts, you will have the option to purchase the Creature for 650 Diamonds.  As this is a price that is greater than that offered DURING the Shuffle, if you are willing and able to use Diamonds for the Creature, do so while the price is influenced by the number of Scarabs you have expended on the Shuffle for it.

There are Creatures in the Mystic Pyramid that can be obtained through ordinary breeding.  These are as follows:

Wadjet
Maunekhe
Ininekhe
Iniape

Those Creatures can be obtained at any time through ordinary breeding.

Formerly, there was only one Creature that was 'seasonal' which means that, in a specific season, you would be able to purchase it in the Market.  When any Creature is in the Market, it can be bred.  When it disappears from the Market, you no longer will be able to obtain it through ordinary breeding.  If you have one and it no longer is in the Market, you can 'clone' it, but you cannot obtain one otherwise out of season.  The seasonal creature in the Mystic Pyramid was Horinama.  In a year, however, I never saw him in the Market.

For Father's Day in 2017, however, Apis was offered in the Market for a fortnight, which gave players the opportunity to breed him rather than winning him in the Pyramid or paying Diamonds once the Chamber expired.

This leaves you with a number of rare Creatures that you never can obtain anywhere BUT the Mystic Pyramid.  The list of these is:

Sekhmet
Horunaje
Meretseger
Tefnut
Apis
Tahallah

Scarabs
xxxxxxx

You may obtain 30 Scarabs randomly in gifts even if you have not recovered the Mystic Pyramid yet.  You will not see these anywhere on your screen until you recover the Pyramid and enter to play Shuffle.  You then will see your Scarab total.

Scarabs can be collected randomly from any harvest of Food or Habitats or from the collections you make on a Friend's kingdom.  As previously stated, they can be obtained in Gifts as well.  The other way to obtain them is by racing your Creatures on the Race Course.  Here the prize randomly could be 20 to 200 Scarabs.

While you are inside the Mystic Pyramid, you will have the option to buy additional Scarabs using Diamonds.  This actually is a better option than using Diamonds directly to purchase the Creature, although once again, every Shuffle is based sheerly on chance.

Tip from Pharaoh Dave:  Many of us played through the Mystic Pyramid without thinking too much about strategy.  I certainly spent far more Diamonds on the Shuffle game than I could afford in the effort to obtain every single Mystic Pyramid Creature.

Pharaoh Dave suggests that a player WAIT before entering the first Chamber until many, many Scarabs have been collected.  You literally may need thousands of Scarabs to play the game in every Chamber and obtain all Creatures without spending Diamonds...  once you open the first Chamber, you have less than a week to obtain the Creature through the Shuffle game.  Each turn of the cards will cost more.

Once the first Chamber expires, the countdown for the next Chamber begins.  In other words, the more Scarabs you have saved, the better your position.  Do not be hasty to open the first Chamber!

The only problem potentially is the temporary addition of a seasonal Chamber.  If you have not opened all other Chambers, you may not be able to play Shuffle for the Seasonal Creature.

List of Creatures
xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

In front of the site of the Chat Building, to the right of your farm, you will find a standing scoreboard structure surmounted by the Eye of Horus.  Tap on it to access a menu that will show you a list of Creatures you can obtain with their descriptions and the two types needed to obtain them.  By obtaining a certain number of different creatures, you can unlock the Underworld, a second land with its own Creatures and Habitats.  This is an advanced option, however!  You can pay Diamonds to unlock the Underworld earlier, but I do not recommend that.  There is enough to do in the land of Egypt and your Diamonds will be needed to purchase a Breeding Temple at Level 20.

There are Creatures that do not appear on the scoreboard and none of the Sand Creatures that appear display their combinations for breeding.  You will find all this information in the Breeding page that always is found ABOVE any post on this site.  Breeding results for both Egypt and Olympus are provided as stand-alone Pages through Tabs above any post here.

This is a game of patience, a classical 'waiting game'.  I yielded to temptation to speed the process of breeding a few times and regret it now.  It was a waste of Diamonds really.  You may breed the same creature again and again after all.  As exciting as it is to obtain a new type of Creature, speeding the process of breeding will not guarantee that as the result.

Gift Statue
xxxxxxxxxx

In all Frismos games, gifting is important.  Go to the Social icon at the bottom right of your screen.  Under Profile, you will be able to create a Nickname for yourself.  Under Community, you will find a random list of other players.  Visit them and give them gifts.  If they return the favour, continue to visit them and give gifts each day.  If they do not send you gifts, you can ignore them and find new friends.

When you visit a Friend, you will be able to collect Rewards from up to four of their habitats as well as placing a gift beneath the Gift Statue.    It is through reciprocation of gifting that you can obtain daily rewards randomly such as Diamonds, XP, Food, Scarabs and Coins.

Optional Buildings
xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

There are optional buildings in Egypt that either offer mini-games or an opportunity to obtain Creatures that you cannot breed in the ordinary way.  The buildings that can be unlocked are:

At Level 15, you can unlock and build the Race Course.  This is strictly a mini-game wherein you can race your own Creature against random opponents (game-generated rather than neighbours' Creatures) for prizes in the form of Stone, Food or Coins.  I really do not recommend that you build or restore this building until you have created all types of habitats but every player has different personal preferences and if you like action in your games, this is where to find it.  Breeding itself always takes time and there is little to do while you wait unless you have the option to race a Creature I suppose.   Age of Pyramids is not the sort of game where you need to play constantly throughout the day.  In fact, you cannot play this game in that fashion.  Instead, you will visit your Kingdom to place completed breeding results in the Nursery, start new breeding experiments, harvest and replant in food farms, collect your Stone and send ships out again for more.

A section of this post above gives lists of the Creatures in the Mystic Pyramid according to the methods by which they can be obtained.

At Level 35, you will unlock the Sanctuary or Lighthouse.  It is here that you can sacrifice your extra Creatures for tokens of different colours.  If you build the Revive Pyramid, you can use those tokens to revive rare Creatures that cannot be obtained in any other fashion.

When you have unlocked the Underworld, you will find that, increasingly, you may need to choose between collection of Coins and collection of Stones at certain moments.  Creatures in the Underworld have high Coin price tags and their Habitats requires massive amounts of Stones.  Whether or not you choose to leave your Ships at dock temporarily is your own choice...  in general, though, it is good to grow Food constantly and quarry or transport Stone constantly...  Even when you have build and placed all possible Habitats at your Level, you may wish to upgrade them...  in the Underworld, many Habitat upgrades require Diamonds but in Egypt, they all can be completed with Stones.
