St. Patrick's Day in Age of Pyramids and Creatures of Olympus

(Above, screenshots of St. Patrick's Dragon in Age of Pyramids, St. Patrick's Dragon in Creatures of Olympus and finally, St. Patrick Lady and Man together in Egypt)

As of Friday, 17 March, St. Patrick's Day Creatures are available both in Egypt and Olympus.  They are Creatures that veteran players may have from a previous year, but for new players, you may find the St. Patrick's Lady available as a special 24 hour promotion in both games and the St. Patrick's Man available in the Market, which means that you can obtain him through breeding as well.  In Egypt, there is a new St. Patrick's Dragon Vizier Creature.

Feeding your Creatures
xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

This has nothing to do with St. Patrick's Day but I thought it would be amusing to share some photographs of the tremendous differences that can exist between a 'baby' Creature at Level 1 and a fully grown one at any Level from 4 up to 20, depending on the habitat or habitats of the Creature.  Below are two screenshots of the most terrifying Creature in Egypt.  His name is Shezmu and most players adore him.  He scared me, frankly, and his size was a little off-putting as he towered over all the other Creatures... he is one of the Revive Creatures that you create using Tokens from Creatures you have sacrificed by literally sending them down the river in a boat.  I did not revive him until now, partly because he frightened me and partly because I wished to save my Tokens for a possible seasonal creature.  I finally caved, though and revived Shezmu... so here he is as a fledgling, newly sprung from his cradle and here he is at Level 10 as well, tossing his enormous scythes in the air.

Well, I have had my fun with the poor Creature.  I suppose I ought to feed him and empower him!

Halloween Creatures in Age of Egypt

Denwen was released last week as a Creature who could be won in the Mystic Pyramid Shuffle game.  Now we have the Lycan of Giza, who can be bred in ordinary fashion using Jackal and Human.  Breeding time is 1 day, 12 hours.

At the same time, there are special seasonal Creatures in the Underground.  One of these is Djinni, an entirely new Creature and the other is the Egyptian Bat, from a previous year but brought back to us for the season.

Both Creatures are breedable so long as they appear in the Market.

Djinni is bred from Ha and Scorpion with a breeding time of 2 days.

The Egyptian Bat is bred from Ha and Bennu and has a breeding time of 1 day.

The Creatures of Olympus Game has some seasonal Creatures as well.  Two of these were promotional purchases in the form of the Sinner Goat and now, Count Dracula.  In these cases, you must purchase the Creature within a 24 hour period.  Once purchased, you should be able to clone it, but you will not be able to breed an original.

The Sinner Goat is an older Creature, Goat and Eagle who can abide in either of those Habitats.  Count Dracula is a Royal Creature who only can be placed in the Royal Habitat.

The other Halloween Creatures ARE breedable by ordinary methods.  Two are in Hades and the other is in the Water World.

The Hades Creatures are the Wolf of Macedon and the Nightmare Horse.  The Wolf of Macedon is bred from Wolf and Kobalos with a breeding time of 1 day and 11 hours.  The Nightmare Horse is from a previous year and is a Fire Creature bred from Bird and Wolf with a breeding time of 2 days

Kelpie is the Creature for the Water World, bred from Octopus and Seahorse with a breeding time of 2 days and 8 hours.

How to Breed a Seasonal Creature without meeting Level Requirements
xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

This option does require an investment in premium Cash (Diamonds) but one would hope not as many as if one were to purchase the seasonal Creature outright.

Some Seasonal Creatures, like the Lycan of Giza, do not require very high levels for the player as he is bred from Jackal and Human and neither Habitat requires a high level of Experience in the game.  In other cases, however, as in the case of the Halloween Underground Creatures this year in the form of Djinni and the Egyptian Bat, both of whom are bred from Ha, you need to be at Level 45 in order to unlock the Ha Habitat.

How then can you hope to obtain either of these Creatures if your Level is lower unless you spend 750 Diamonds for the Egyptian Bat or 1100 Diamonds for Djinni?  Well, there is a way...  but only if you have unlocked the habitat for the OTHER half of the breeding equation.

Djinni is bred from Ha and Scorpion.  The Egyptian Bat is bred from Ha and Bennu.  If you are willing to spend a few hundred Diamonds, you can purchase the least expensive Creature that has Ha as half of the equation and then try to breed these Creatures.  You will have a better chance of success if the Creature is Ha and Scorpion or Ha and Bennu but even if it is Ha with a Creature that is not part of the Djinni or Egyptian Bat equations, you may be able to obtain the Halloween Creatures.

An example for this particular exercise would be Mathayus priced at 450 Diamonds.  He is Scorpion and Ha, like Djinni.  Buy him, place him in the Scorpion Habitat and then pair him with a Scorpion to try to obtain Djinni... or having placed him in the Scorpion Habitat, you then can pair him with Bennu to try to obtain the Egyptian Bat.  The problem with the latter pair is that it could create a Creature that is Bennu and Scorpion rather than Bennu and Ha.

Note that Frismos gives a grace period to farmers for seasonal Creatures.  In other words, you should have to the end of the week to be able to breed one.  Results always are random, however, within the group created by the same pairing.
